Make this refreshing drink at home with Patrón Silver

Although La Casa Azul is available in Goldfinch Tavern through August 31, 2016, make the memories last longer with Tara McLaughlin’s cocktail recipe and recreate the moment at home.

The cocktail features Patrón Silver tequila as part of Four Seasons Cocktail Quarterly series, Margarita Moments. A year-long global initiative, the cocktail series hones in on a new cocktail trend, technique, or seasonal ingredient each quarter.

“La Casa Azul is the name of Frida Kahlo’s house in Mexico City. The blue house,” said McLaughlin. “Blue doesn’t refer to the color of the drink, but to the blue agave used to make Patrón.”

I used the margarita and the bramble cocktail to create this. Blackberries are in season and are abundant in the Northwest. Crushed ice just screams summer to me and who doesn’t like a margarita variation on a hot summer day,” continues McLaughlin.

  • 1.5 oz. Patrón Silver
  • .5 oz. orgeat
  • .5 oz. pineapple
  • .75 oz. lime juice
  • .5 oz. creme de mure

  1. Add creme de mure to a rocks glass and then add some crushed ice.
  2. Shake all other ingredients and pour over the crushed ice.
  3. Top off with more crushed ice and garnish with 2 blackberries and a lime wheel.
